Before you start your underwater videography internship you will need to achieve to rating of PADI Rescue diver or equivalent. Below is a description of how you get there.
The World’s most popular entry level scuba diving training course.
What you will learn…………..
You will start your underwater video internship program by learning to dive with one of the most reputable PADI diving schools in the world.
The PADI Open Water Diver course is scheduled over four days. During this time you will learn the basics on how to scuba dive safely. The course includes knowledge development and confined water sessions, scheduled in our purpose built swimming pool and finally diving. Finally you will participate in four open water training dives.
Once you have completed the Open Water course it’s time to move onto the PADI Advanced Open Water course.
Scheduled over two days there are Two mandatory training dives; The Deep dive (max. 30 Meters) and the Underwater Navigation dive. You then have a choice of three further training dives from a list that includes Night, Fish ID, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist, Search & Recovery, Digital Underwater Photography, Diver Propulsion Vehicle and Multi Level.
Once you have completed the advanced course why not take in a few fun dives to build your all round confidence and diving abilities before enrolling on the EFR First Aid & CPR course, followed by the PADI Rescue Diver course.
Experience dives within your underwater video internship program are FREE* and this is a perfect opportunity to build up some confidence and improve your general diving skills by taking in some ‘fun dives’ prior to starting your Rescue Diver course.
The EFR course is scheduled over 1 day. We focus on Primary & Secondary care, teaching you a variety of first aid skills such as rescue breathing, bandaging a bleeding victim, shock management, splinting for broken bones or dislocations and CPR. There is also a multiple choice exam at the end.
The next day we can start the PADI Rescue Diver. This course is probably the most fun course within the PADI system, but extremely serious too. Initially we focus on self rescue skills before expanding those skills onto considering the safety and well being of other divers. The course looks at dive emergency and accident management situations. You are required to take a multiple choice exam as well as complete four ‘final in water scenarios’ where we use role playing techniques to simulate potential accidents that may occur in a diving situation.
After completion of the Rescue course you are now ready to begin your underwater video Internship program. Read about it
